Rent the hall

The Killarney-Glengarry Community Hall, located at 2828 28 Street SW in Calgary, AB, is the premier venue for inner-city events. Our spacious function room is perfect for any occasion, including weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, graduations, and retirements. With a capacity of 120 guests seated at tables or 184 for lecture-style seating, it’s an ideal space for gatherings of all sizes.

Our versatile hall is also available for meetings, concerts, speeches, classes (such as yoga, Tai Chi, ballroom dancing, and meditation), and lectures. The main function room measures 51' x 45' and features a hardwood floor, carpeted areas, and abundant natural light through its many windows.

The facility is wheelchair accessible via an outdoor ramp and includes an attached full kitchen with two stoves and fridges as part of your rental. Whether you're hosting a community event or a private gathering, the Killarney-Glengarry Community Hall offers the perfect inner-city venue for your needs.

Hall Features:

With your rental, you’ll have access to:

  • A large coat check area just outside the function room

  • Banquet tables (5′ round, 6′ & 8′ long rectangular)

  • Banquet chairs (190)

  • Podium

  • Kitchen – our kitchen opens out to the hall and is equipped with two fridges, two stoves/ ovens (for reheating only), microwave, coffee maker and a large coffee urn, and a hot water kettle.

  • Speaker system ($100 flat fee)

  • Projector and 10x10 foot projector screen ($100 flat fee)

  • *NEW* Bouncy Castle and giant Connect 4 ($100 flat fee includes set up, take down, cleaning)

  • Washrooms

We do not provide any food or beverage services, so you’re welcome to bring in any outside food or caterer you prefer. *If alcohol will be on the premises, YOU are responsible for obtaining an AGLC Liquor Permit and Insurance and send the copy to us PRIOR to your event.*

Renters can do their own set-up and tear-down, or we can provide either service (or both) for an additional fee (see Rental Fees below).

Renters are responsible for supplying any decorations, glassware, dishes, cutlery or linens.

Peak hours: $95/ hour

Non-peak hours: $75/ hour

Peak hours:

  • Friday: 12:00pm - 12:00 am

  • Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 am - 12:00 am

Non-peak hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 12:00 am

  • Friday: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Additional charges on ALL rentals:

  • Cleaning fee (under 100 people): $100

  • Cleaning fee (over 100 people): $150

Optional Add-ons:

  • Set-up service: $100

  • Take-down service: $100

  • Professional sound system rental: $100

  • Projector and screen rental: $100

  • Bouncy Castle & Giant Connect 4: $100

  • Outdoor greenspace: $150

  • Basement (Legion Lounge): $50 hourly

Prices DO NOT include 5% GST

Rental time needs to be inclusive of time required to access the hall prior to and after your event.


Discounts:

Members of the KGCA receive a 20% discount on the rental cost only - add-ons are excluded from the discount. Memberships must be active at time of booking and for the day of the event.

Non-profit groups receive a 10% discount on the rental cost only. This is exclusive of a membership, such that a membership discount would replace this discount.

Charities and fundraisers receive a 50% discount on the rental cost only. Charity registration is required to provide at the time of booking.

Once or twice per year, KGCA may conduct a “sale” on hall rental time in order to make optimal use of the facility. This is NOT a bonus that renters can negotiate for. Discounts will only be offered for bookings made for specific dates.

Cancellation Policy:

The cancellation fee is $50 for all rentals to account for admin and processing fees. Rentals booked one year in advance must be canceled no less than 60 days before their rental date in order to receive a full refund of their 50% rental deposit. The damage deposit is refundable in full upon cancellation.

Time Requirement:

All one-time rentals must have a minimum rent of TWO HOURS. Weekly rentals can rent at a minimum of ONE HOUR.

Please note that all events can be no closer than two hours apart from one another to accommodate for the cleaning and resetting of the hall.

Damage Deposit:

For rentals of the main function hall, a damage deposit is required. Damage, if any, will be assessed after your event and any unused portions of the damage deposit returned.

  • Over 100 people = $1,500

  • 50-100 people = $750

  • Less than 50 people = $500

Penalties:

All renters are subject to penalties which include:

  • $25 for extra cleaning of glitters, decor, confetti, marks on walls etc.

  • $100 for open window

  • $100 for lights in function room left on

  • $350 for leaving an exterior door unlocked or failing to return key to lock box and properly closing it

  • $500 for major damages that burdens on KGCA

Penalties will be deducted from the damage deposit.
